OneCal bank has provided $25,000 to support Chabot's mission of educating and inspiring students of all ages about our Planet Earth and the Universe. OneCal's association with Chabot began in March 2008 with aOneCal-sponsored field trip to Chabot for Oakland public school fifth graders.

Three public schools and 74 students participated. The field trip included a movie in the Planetarium, class room workshops, hands-on experiences in Chabot's activity centers, lunch and mentoring by Chabot staff and OneCal volunteers.

In the 2008-2009 school year, OneCal plans to double the number of students and perhaps add more schools. The partnership with Chabot helps to fulfill OneCal's mission of encouraging financial literacy and creating economic opportunity.
